Happileigh Scrappin’ Inspiration…

Happy Thursday to all of you! Leigh has once again found another beautiful photograph as your inspiration for a challenge this week.

This is just another stunning piece of photography to stir your imagination. It doesn’t matter if it’s the colors or the image itself.

I chose to use the theme of the bird house. The card stock I used is generic card stock. I also used Prismacolor pencils with odorless mineral spirits and the embellishments are small, metal roses.

This image is titled Cottage Birdhouse (I want to make sure you know what to look for when you go shopping). You can find this and many more images just as beautiful at the Happileigh Scrappin' Store.  Leigh is amazing with her designs, so don’t forget to stop by and just take a look at what she has to offer. I know you will take home more than just one image!

Remember to stop in at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge to find out who last week's winners are.  Also, don’t forget to stop by my Design Team sister’s sites to see what they have prepared for you. I am thrilled to be involved with all of these wonderfully talented ladies! You will find all of their links in my sidebar on your left.

The weekend will soon be here again, so make yours a fantastic one! Thanks for stopping by and I love comments, so please take the time to drop me a note. Blessings to you all!

This will be my last posting for Sue.  My journey for January with Sue and her Design Team has come to an end.  I wish I could stay forever; maybe somewhere down the road.  You won't find any finer people to deal with than you will at McMahon Five Designs.  Not only are they all extremely talented, but they hold themselves up to some pretty high ideals.  You won't go wrong dealing with Sue's company or her team members.  Ladies, I thank you for the honor of working with you this month and for the opportunity to get to know each of you, if only for a brief time.  I will be lurking and watching (so be good...lol) and I will hold you all dear to my heart! Blessings to you all!

Guylou's Inimitability Card Challenge....

Guylou's Inimitability is having a "red" challenge; there has to be red somewhere on your entry.  You can use any image to enter and get one entry....but, if you use an image from Guylou's Inimitability Digistamps, you will get two entries. Plus, there is a brand new image up that her team has worked on.  If you use the new image you will get three entries.  How's that for good odds?  You have until 10 p.m. EST on February 3rd to get your entry in.  You're not making that card yet?

The winner will be awarded a digistamp of her choice from Guylou's Inimitability Digistamps and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge and will get another Guylou's digistamp to make a card or project along with her Design Team.

This is Alexandra, one of Guylou's images...in red:

It's Happileigh Scrappin' Monday...

Happy Monday to you all!  I can hear you groaning, so stop...pretend it's still Sunday...lol!

Leigh has a new inspiration picture for all of you...

How is that for a gorgeous picture?  Love the soft colors and vintage look to it.  Of course, you all should know by now that I have a hard time with soft colors and vintage.  I also don't think I could work without shimmer and bling....hmmm, may have to give it a shot sometime.  My inspiration is right here for all of you;  the image is titled Door Basket (so when you go look for it in the store, you will know what to look for).

Found out the hard way by working on this image that a certain pencil's gold doesn't turn out gold.  The ribbon is entirely gold ___ pencil.  The background behind the focal image is all hand chalked.  There are stickles in the flower centers (of course) and homemade shimmer on the ribbon and door plate and knob.  The door plate is actually silver, but picked up the purple cast from the flash when I took this photo...tried to edit it out to no avail.  I'll try to do better next week, ya'll.

You can find this image and many others too gorgeous to talk about at Leigh's Happileigh Scrappin' Store.  Ya'll don't forget to check out my DT sister's sites (look to your left in my sidebar).  They have done some awesome work this week....each and every one of them.  You'll be cheating yourself out of some fantastic eye candy if you don't visit them!

And, hey, everybody....don't forget it is still Breast Cancer Awareness month.  If you haven't done your self exam, you better get to it.  It's easy to do and too important to miss!  Tell the men in your life that men get breast cancer, too.  They may not like hearing it, but it's better to hear it and have them checking also, than to miss something like this!  That's my public service sermon for today....hope each and every one of you has a blessed day!!

Yummy blog candy...

The Daily Marker is giving away a whole grouping of Penny Black stamps.  Some are wood mounted, some are cling stamps, some are the Slapstick clings, but they are all fantastic.  The contest runs until February 8th, so get over there and get your entry in.  Just check out the goodies they are giving away...

Who wouldn't love to take these home?  I know I sure would!!  Good luck and have a blessed day!

A button tip...

Hi friends! I just wanted to share a little tip with you. I don't have nearly as many buttons as I would like to have, but finding what I want can be difficult. I have them sorted by color; that's not the hard part.

If you have yours in jars (or boxes, or bags) sorted by color, that's the easy part. But what if you want matching buttons? Do you dig through all the blue ones trying to find buttons that match? Try this...first keep a good assortment of different sized safety pins around. When you buy buttons (or, as I do, cut them off a throwaway clothing item), place the ones that match on a safety pin. You can find safety pins in all sizes that will fit the button holes. Put the ones that match together on a safety pin and then just put them back in the container for that color buttons. Voila! No more searching for matching buttons.

Hope this helps someone (besides me) solve their button hunting! Have a blessed day!

Shape challenge...

The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog has posted a new challenge.  You have to make a shaped card (and that doesn't include rectangles or squares...lol).  You can see what her team has put together on her blog. This is my entry; it's the Stitched Heart Wreath (part of a set) by Leigh Grady and you can find it at Happileigh Scrappin' Store.

As always, thanks for stopping in...I love company!!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge...

Pixie Dust Studio has a "Button Up" challenge going on.  The only requirements are to use buttons in your design and link it back to their site.  They would, of course, like you to use one of their lovely images, but it isn't mandatory.  I have used Pixie Lilly and the buttons are the three yellow "flowers" on the right side of the card with rhinestone centers.  So, without, further ado, here's Lilly...

I used generic yellow card stock, a border punch (I used gold stickles in the punched areas), Glossy Accents on her eyes and the three hearts, and blue stickles on her skirt.

Thursday means McMahon Five Designs releases...

Happy Thursday to you all!  Thursday is on us again already and that means new releases from McMahon Five Designs.  As always, Sue continues to put the "wow" in digital images.  My image for this week is here, but read the entire post please.  You will find some very important information on Breast Cancer Awareness, Organ Donation and many other causes.

The standard pink ribbon is well known and recognized as a Breast Cancer Awareness symbol.  But, did you know there are many other wonderful causes that use the ribbon, in other colors.  You will find a listing at the bottom of this post of all the causes we should all be aware of.  Organ Donation is one of the most dear to our hearts and you can read why further down.

Well, with no more chatter from me here is my image.  I do apologize; the flower looks black in the photo, but it is actually a very dark purple.  So, here's Emmaline, one of McMahon Five Designs new releases:
