I felt the need to repost this....

Sorry, once again a post that has nothing to do with cards but a lot to do with my heart and the way I feel.

Rescue Rainbow Bridge

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals who had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch.

It wasn't long before an elderly animal came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for a while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often.

He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again. As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him. He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those animals who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge. With no place else to turn to, the elderly animal turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other animals like himself, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.

One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for awhile to explain it to him.

"You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He entered rescue just as you see him now, an older animal with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge."

The first animal thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?" As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden light and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life.

"Watch, and see.", said the second animal. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed him towards The Bridge. They all crossed The Bridge together.

"What happened?"

"That was a rescuer. The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of his work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort those poor animals that they couldn't place with families on earth, across The Rainbow Bridge."

"I think I like rescuers", said the first animal.

"So does GOD", was the reply.

What a joy to be back online!!!

Hi to everyone! I have missed everyone soooooo much! I'm not sure how often I will be able to post now. I finally have a printer again...hooray!

Nana Vic is offering a free digital image that is just too wonderful for her Vickie's Quickie. This is the card I made with the image.

I do so hope you all have missed me just a fraction of how much I have missed all of you. There are so many e-mails I need to write. I am now in North Carolina but missing Georgia. I can't really say where I will settle. Let's see...North Carolina? Georgia? North Carolina? Georgia?  lol  Have to decide soon...getting too old for many more moves!

Still have health issues that I am having to deal with. I am about 45 minutes from the Durham VA medical center. Duke University Hospital is right next door and their interns/doctors work heavily with the VA here. I am hoping that will mean a better quality of medical care.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July! Happy birthday, America, and thank you to all of my fellow veterans and the many current active duty military personnel. Freedom isn't free...it's fought for! Hug a veteran!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with family and friends! Mine was very quiet...missing my family.

Well, I don't have any wonderful Happileigh Scrappin' images for you today.  Something a little different for you. I have been wanting to take these photos for almost two weeks now and finally quit procrastinating.

This is a photo taken this morning of the wreath on my front door. I can hear you saying..."So?"  Bear with me, please.

This next shot is a very close shot of the same wreath. Can you see the fluff towards the bottom right corner?

Can't see it?  Look just a little closer....

Isn't God and nature amazing? I check on the nursery every day. The eggs are getting a little darker every day...guess it's the babes growing. Mom and dad visit every day and sit with the eggs. They have even been known to attack visitors. I'll try to keep all of you up to date.

Have a blessed day!!

Happileigh Scrappin' has new releases for today...

Happy Monday to everyone! It is an especially happy Monday around my house! During a recent move, a so-called friend (no longer called a friend) took off with my printer. That means I can no longer print digital images. Leigh has been gracious enough to allow me to showcase her new releases for her (BIG HUGS, Leigh).

Well, that explanation done with, I will go ahead with my reason for this post. That is to show you what Leigh has cooked up for today's release. She always delights with her images and she continues to do so this week. I always love all of her images, but really love the look and feel of Tulip Time...

Just too pretty for words...to me, at least. This image would be suitable for spring, Easter, Mother's Day; just too many occasions to list. And then there is Tea Cup Stack (I just love Leigh's tea cups and tea pots!). This pretty image would suit itself for any one of several occasions, as well.

Aren't they just too pretty for words? And then we have Scraggly Bear....

This little guy is just adorable! I just wish I could print him out and send him on his way to my youngest grandson!  But ya'll can!  Just hop on over to the Happileigh Scrappin' Store and you can own any of these images. Don't forget to stay up-to-date with the challenges always going on at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge. You never know what's going on there...you might even drop in on a royal wedding.

Oh, I can't leave you this week without letting you know that Leigh is offering a sweet deal this week.  Anyone who purchases three digis will get one image free plus a free Mother's Day sentiment. So drop by the store to take advantage of this offer.

In closing for this week, I want to jump back and say thank you. Thank you to each and every one of you who expressed their love to me. I have missed everyone terribly and I am so glad to back with all of you!
