Yummy blog candy...

The Daily Marker is giving away a whole grouping of Penny Black stamps.  Some are wood mounted, some are cling stamps, some are the Slapstick clings, but they are all fantastic.  The contest runs until February 8th, so get over there and get your entry in.  Just check out the goodies they are giving away...

Who wouldn't love to take these home?  I know I sure would!!  Good luck and have a blessed day!

A button tip...

Hi friends! I just wanted to share a little tip with you. I don't have nearly as many buttons as I would like to have, but finding what I want can be difficult. I have them sorted by color; that's not the hard part.

If you have yours in jars (or boxes, or bags) sorted by color, that's the easy part. But what if you want matching buttons? Do you dig through all the blue ones trying to find buttons that match? Try this...first keep a good assortment of different sized safety pins around. When you buy buttons (or, as I do, cut them off a throwaway clothing item), place the ones that match on a safety pin. You can find safety pins in all sizes that will fit the button holes. Put the ones that match together on a safety pin and then just put them back in the container for that color buttons. Voila! No more searching for matching buttons.

Hope this helps someone (besides me) solve their button hunting! Have a blessed day!

Shape challenge...

The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog has posted a new challenge.  You have to make a shaped card (and that doesn't include rectangles or squares...lol).  You can see what her team has put together on her blog. This is my entry; it's the Stitched Heart Wreath (part of a set) by Leigh Grady and you can find it at Happileigh Scrappin' Store.

As always, thanks for stopping in...I love company!!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge...

Pixie Dust Studio has a "Button Up" challenge going on.  The only requirements are to use buttons in your design and link it back to their site.  They would, of course, like you to use one of their lovely images, but it isn't mandatory.  I have used Pixie Lilly and the buttons are the three yellow "flowers" on the right side of the card with rhinestone centers.  So, without, further ado, here's Lilly...

I used generic yellow card stock, a border punch (I used gold stickles in the punched areas), Glossy Accents on her eyes and the three hearts, and blue stickles on her skirt.

Thursday means McMahon Five Designs releases...

Happy Thursday to you all!  Thursday is on us again already and that means new releases from McMahon Five Designs.  As always, Sue continues to put the "wow" in digital images.  My image for this week is here, but read the entire post please.  You will find some very important information on Breast Cancer Awareness, Organ Donation and many other causes.

The standard pink ribbon is well known and recognized as a Breast Cancer Awareness symbol.  But, did you know there are many other wonderful causes that use the ribbon, in other colors.  You will find a listing at the bottom of this post of all the causes we should all be aware of.  Organ Donation is one of the most dear to our hearts and you can read why further down.

Well, with no more chatter from me here is my image.  I do apologize; the flower looks black in the photo, but it is actually a very dark purple.  So, here's Emmaline, one of McMahon Five Designs new releases:

Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge....

Happy Monday to everyone!  Last week the challenge was to be inspired by this picture:

The picture reminded me of my youth, first.  Everybody's homes had samplers of some sort hung in their homes.  Then it reminded me of my gratitude for the friends I have made here online.  They are more than friends now; they have become family!  Then there are the hearts on it; they reminded me of love.  Not just the love for family, but for God, friends, home and every little blessing we receive every day.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, my choice was pretty simple.  You will find the set I made my card from at the Happileigh Scrappin' Store.  Leigh does fantastic image work.  The set I used is titled Valentine Heart Wreath; the wreath I used is part of a set.  The set includes the wreath shown, a beautiful tag, a grouping of four small hearts and a larger winged heart.  What more could you need to send love winging someone's way?  Here is my card:

I hand stamped the background using SU Mango and Taken with Teal; I also used a 4-piece mini SU set and this was all tiny hearts.  I hand cut the heart card shape and inked the edges, again, with Taken with Teal.  The main focal image is the Valentine Heart Wreath from the Happileigh Scrappin' Store.  It was colored with Prismacolor pencils and a bow with a clear rhinestone center was added.  I also hand cut out the focal image; in the center I applied clear Stickles and covered it with pink glitter.  I hope you like the card!

And now for this week's challenge.  This picture is just too adorable for words.  You have all week to work on it.  I just know we are going to see some wonderful work from this image.

I immediately knew I had to play with one of Leigh's newest images "I Do".  It was just so appropriate for this picture, so here it is:

The picture also said "love", in general, to me.  That meant I had to also give "Tatter's Valentine" a go...in all his glory, here's Tatter:

I hope you enjoy what I did with these two fantastic images.  I sure had fun working with them!  Don't forget to get your cards in for this week's challenge.  Remember to stop in at the Happileigh Scrappin' Store to pick up your images and view the rest of Leigh's terrific image work.  Also, please don't forget to check out my DT sisters cards!  You will find the links to the Happileigh Scrappin' Design Team in my left sidebar....have a fantastic day!!!
