I Brake for Stamp Inchies Challenge

Here is a photo I took of a card I entered for the most recent I Brake for Stamp challenge.  We had to cut our backgrounds or focal image into 1 inch to 1-1/4" squares and post them on our card.  Two went in the trash before I wound up with this one.

A Card Maker's Rights...

I found this in Gina K's forums...thought you all might appreciate it.  I did, anyway!

A card touches us – somehow, a small folded piece of paper can comfort, celebrate, reach out or just say hello. Creating a handmade card is an honorable and important task.

As a cardmaker, you are entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:
  • You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one handmade card. This may be five minutes or two weeks.
  • You have the right to send a card for no other reason than to show off your new stamp, embellishment or technique.
  • You have the right to create a fabulous card for your husband, partner or roommate – just because you know it will stay in your house.
  • You have the right to spread your cardmaking things out all over, just to admire them.
  • You have the right to purchase a certain cardmaking item for no other reason than because a) you like it; b) you think it's cute; c) you'll never find it again, or; d) you know you'll use it someday.
  • You have the right to reserve using your most precious supplies on cards only for recipients who will truly appreciate them.
  • You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your college student's old bedroom or the kitchen table.
  • You have the right to make cards when inspiration strikes – whether the dishes are done or not.
  • You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less cardmaking time - guilt-free.
  • You have the right to let the handmade card be the gift, too.
  • You have the right to value your personal style.
  • You are creating a treasure - and part of that treasure is you.

I received a blog award...

Thank you Shelley (Wild Frog's Artwork & Creations) for the award.  Here it is:

To accept this award, I must do the following:
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded me this award
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards.

To accept this award I must list eight things about myself...here goes.
     1.  I am grateful for my family and their love.
     2.  I love my fur babies dearly; their love is unconditional.
     3.  Besides making cards, I knit, crochet, do counted cross stitch, sew and love to work in my
          garden.
     4.  I would love to take a long cruise to Mexico or a remote island (not a tourist trap island).
     5.  I would love to learn to scuba dive.
     6.  I have started a gratitude journal so that when I am having a "poor me" day, I can read
through it and realize just how lucky I am.
     7.  I am grateful everyday that I can wake up and enjoy this wonderful world.
     8.  I am grateful and amazed at the online friends I have made.  It is truly wonderful that people
who have never met are so sharing and caring.  I have run into many angels online!!

Thanks for all the comments...

I would just like to take a minute and thank everyone who stops by and leaves a comment (I love comments).

I would also like you all to know that I do answer each and every comment (or I try to).  Some of you have not enabled contact information to be shared and, lately, I have had trouble getting the email links to work.  So, if you have not heard from me, it is not that I am not reading the posts and am just ignoring you.  I will keep trying to reach those that I can!

Happy holidays to everyone!!

Pattie's Creation Sketch Challenge...

I didn't think I had a Pattie's Creations image that was appropriate for the challenge, so I made this card using the sketch and a Michelle Perkett image.  I have since decided one of Pattie's images I have will make a cute card so will be doing another one.

Christmas Card Challenge...

Little Missy Christmas was made for a Christmas card challenge; only to find out I missed the deadline.  Oh, well.  I'm not real happy with the photo.  Missy's entire background is chalked a pale green and there's a lot of sparkle that doesn't show.  But I still think she's a happy little image!

Everyone have a wonderfully Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanks....

For those of you who know me, you are aware of the medical problems I am facing.  I put out a plea for crafting supplies at a reasonable price, since my stock is so sparse.

I just wanted to let you know that my God sends angels in many sizes, shapes, forms and ways.  I have received some wonderful gifts from some of His angels.  I am pretty teary-eyed right now.  I am in awe of the love that has been sent my way.

Thank you just does not say how grateful I am.  You know who you are.  I hope that you are blessed each and every day for the blessings you have seen fit to give to me.

My heart and prayers are with each and every one of you!!!!
